SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Getac Inc., a manufacturer of rugged computers, announced two new laptops here at the Government Technology Conference-West show.
The V100 is a convertible that can be switched into a Tablet PC. Designed to meet the everyday demands of law enforcement, public safety, military, utility and field service personnel, the V100 is fully compliant with MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards.
The 4.9-pound unit features a fanless design a 10.4-inch screen, a 1.2 GHz Intel Core Duo CPU, 512 MB expandable to 2 GB of DRAM, 120 GB shock-mounted removable hard drive, Integrated Bluetooth, reversible waterproof camera, and a full menu of wireless networking capabilities – all housed in a water resistant rugged magnesium alloy case.
The package includes the Microsoft Windows XP Professional and XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system.
Options include a 12-inch LCD screen and choice of digitizer or touch screen interface, integrated GPS, 3G and 802.11a/b/g functionality.
The P470 laptop is a light-weight design with a 14.1-inch Wide Screen XGA LCD display with optional sunlight readable or touch-screen display.
It includes a shock-mounted 80 GB removable hard drive (expandable to 160 GB) and sealed ports and connectors within a magnesium alloy case that is vibration and drop-shock resistant.
It runs on an Intel Centrino Core Duo T2400 1.83 Ghz processor with 2 MB L2cache and 512 MB expandable DRAM. Standard security features include the TPM 1.2Trust Platform Module, Kensington lock, fingerprint scanner access control and Smart Card reader for worry-free secure transactions.
Also available are a full range of wireless options, including WWAN, WLAN and Bluetooth.
