Hutch Carpenter offers an example of how not to be using Twitter and other social media on the Web.
“A lucky job applicant tweeted the following: ‘Cisco just offered me a job! Now I have to weigh the utility of a fatty paycheck against the daily commute to San Jose and hating the work.’ This tweet caught the attention of Tim Levad, a channel partner advocate for Cisco. To which he responded: ‘Who is the hiring manager. I’m sure they would love to know that you will hate the work. We here at Cisco are versed in the web.’”
New Chrome beta up to 35 per cent faster

Google Subnet writes about the latest news with Google’s beta version of its Chrome browser.
“Google says the new beta sports an improved V8 engine for a 25 per cent speed improvement in its own internal benchmarks and a 35 per cent increase on the Sunspider benchmark vs. the current stable Chrome version. The latest Chrome beta also offers some new features, including form auto-fill, full-page zoom, auto-scroll and the ability to drag tabs to get a side-by-side view.”
Logitech debuts cooling pad, notebook riserfont>

“Logitech introduced (on Tuesday) its Cooling Pad N100 and Notebook Riser N110, which are intended to make your laptop experience a bit cooler, so to speak. The Cooling Pad N100 improves airflow around your laptop with a slotted surface and a USB-powered fan to drive heat away from your lap via a rear air intake. The device includes a low power-consumption USB cable. ”
