“Hans Reiser, 43, whose Namesys company was responsible for the widely used open source Reiser3 and Resider4 file systems, faces a murder trial here Monday that has all the elements of a soap opera — divorce, deceit, confessions, children and even the foreign nation of Russia.”

Don Tennant says the days of the booth babe are over, and should stay that way.

”There was a time when this sort of thing wasn’t uncommon at all. Most of us can well remember the old Comdex days, when scantily clad women were a mainstay on the show floor. I’ve been to countless IT conferences and trade shows since then, however, and I was under the impression that the embarrassing practice had mercifully died when Comdex faded away. “
