Toronto – For the first time in its history Compugen of Richmond Hill, Ont. has reached the top spot in CDN’s Top 100 Solution Providers rankings.
Compugen ended Softchoice’s record setting seven-year run as the Top Solution Provider in Canada.
Compugen narrowly beat out Softchoice who both reported significant growth years in 2011. CDW Canada jumped from fourth place last year to 3rd this year, while Metafore and CompuCom Canada rounded out the top five.
Best performing newcomer was ESRI Canada, who is a global information mapping solution provider based in Toronto. The Fastest Riser winner was another Toronto-based solution provider CyberPlex who soared 34 spots to claim the prize. CyberPlex has been focusing on digital publishing as an expertise and it has certainly paid off.
For the first time this year, CDN is awarding regional prizes. Microserve won for best performing Western based solution provider. Triware of St. John, NFLD., captured the Top Eastern Solution Provider of the Year award. And, TeraMach Technologies of Ottawa won for the Top Central Solution Provider after almost doubling revenues from last year.
Best Small Business Solution Provider went to EPIC Information Solutions from Winnipeg and Best Mid Market Solution Provider was won by Stoneworks Technologies of Ottawa.
After an impressive comeback in 2010, growth continuing for the Top 100 Solution Providers in Canada. According to CDN’s research partner IDC Canada, this group generated revenues of close to $6 billion and it was a healthy growth rate of five per cent in 2011. Also revenues from the Top 100 solution providers jumped up by 6.2 per cent from the previous year.
More than 250 people from solution provider organizations across Canada attended the annual event held at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue in North Toronto.
