Security vendor AVG has announced the 2016 release of its Business Edition software suite, including its AntiVirus and Internet Security offerings.

The solutions continue to focus on the SMB market, with scalability beyond this space, the company said.

“Today’s release of our core AntiVirus and Internet Security products for business delivers new and advanced cyber security protections and we are excited to get these into the hands of our channel and small to medium businesses across the globe,” Joanna Brace, vice president of marketing and product marketing at AVG Business said in a statement.

The products also include a remote management console for access to network systems.

New to the suite are features including a new scanning engine that uses cloud-based detection to scan faster, real-time outbreak detection using crowd intelligence that gathers malware variants, AI-based detection that AVG claims can identify threats before its own lab team has catalogued it, cloud-based online shield to identify dangerous downloads, a password-encrypted virtual disk function to protect files and folders, and finally an industry-compliant file shredder feature.

According to AVG, channel partners will receive free upgrades to the 2016 Business Edition with renewals of existing licenses.  The company said it would also provide technical support at no cost, and will have webinars for SMBs and reseller kits for partners.

The AVG AntiVirus Business Edition and AVG Internet Security Business Edition are available now, and coincide with the release of the consumer version.
