Acer projector includes network control

Acer America has expanded its professional series of projectors with the launch of the Acer S1383WHne projector.

Boasting short-throw versatility with a native 16:10 aspect ratio, network control and a high 3,200 lumens brightness, Acer says the projector can deliver clear and wide images of up to 300 inches diagonally from just 10.9 feet from the screen. With this flexibility in placement options, Acer says the S1383WHne is a good fit for school auditoriums, lecture halls, classrooms and conference rooms, and even a living room.

In conjunction with the Crestron web-based control console, the Acer S1383WHne can be controlled remotely via a LAN, and with Crestron RoomView facility-wide monitoring, control and reporting of audio-visual assets is available.

“Teachers, public speakers, executives and others that speak to large audiences will especially appreciate our newest short throw projector’s ability to project large, vibrant images from either long or short distances and high-quality audio,” said Ronald Lau, Acer America business manager, in a statement.  “I’m confident that IT professionals will be fans of its top-loading lamp design and ability to be controlled remotely via a LAN, making it easy to manage and service.”

In addition to 3200 ANSI lumens brightness and native WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, the S1383WHne features Dedicated Constant Brightness technology for up to three years of use and Dynamic Black technology for better contrasts thanks to a dynamic lamp power adjustment that analyzes content frame by frame and adjusts dark scenes to optimal black levels while maintaining brightness.

The projector features a built-in 10W speaker if external speakers are not available, and is DLP 3D Ready to be paired with a PC or audio-visual device that supports 120Hz output and a DLP 3D kit.

Connectivity options include a HDMI port with MHL connectivity, s-video and two sets of D-Sub and audio connectors.

The Acer S1383WHne professional series projector is available now through the Acer channel in Canada, starting at $799.
