E.S. Williams & Associates (ESW), a Calgary-based consulting services solution provider will team up with ITnorth.ca of Fort St. John, B.C. Combined the two solution providers are now one of the largest channel players in Western Canada with offices in Victoria, Grande Prairie, Alta., and Edmonton along with the two headquarter sites.
Mike Tanyi, the vice president of sales and marketing for ITNorth.ca, told CDN that the merger will effectively provide the new company with coverage of both the enterprise space and SMB. ESW focused on the enterprise, while ITnorth was predominately an SMB player in markets such as Oil & Gas, construction, healthcare, transportation, aboriginal and forestry.
“There is very little overlap with the two companies and we can play on our strengths in the market as ESW is on the enterprise, while ITnorth has grown its business through the SMB market. This merger really made sense for both,” Tanyi said.
Both employee bases have been retained and Tanyi added that the senior leadership team of both companies will stay as is and work to complement each other.
ESW President Graham Plett said in a statement that people are the company’s greatest asset and to customers as well.” The culture of both organizations and the added intellectual property that our combined company will have has me extremely energized about the potential future we have together.”
By joining forces ESW and ITnorth can now offer increased technical services with a staff of 120 people. The company’s combined footprint is now in two provinces, while internal systems and processes are virtually identical.
The newly merged operation can also provide Web design and marketing, mobile app development, training, and field support.
ITnorth managing partner Akos Zsufa said: “Even during economic challenges, we have grown our market share through exemplary service and sheer hard work. This partnership further strengthens and positions us for the future.”
ITnorth was established in 2003 as a one-person operation to become one of the largest Northern B.C.-based solution providers. ITnorth has won multiple CDN Channel Elite Awards including Best Cloud Solution Provider in 2014.
ITnorth also captured two 2015 Microsoft Canada Impact Awards for Infrastructure Innovation the Fastest Growing SMB Cloud Provider in Western Canada.
ESW put roots down in Alberta back in 1998 and provided the province with traditional IT products and solutions, remote field consultants, and managed print services.
ESW also branded its MPS BluePrintTM, which is a methodology that takes customers on a journey of business alignment, engagement models, strategic roadmaps, and unified delivery.
