Taking suggestions: What else should we ban while driving?
Techdirt
Mike Masnick sheds some light on some careless driving habits.

“With California’s law banning driving while talking on a mobile phone without a handsfree device set to take effect next week, the author of the original bill is already working on a follow-up to ban driving-while-texting as well…We’ve already heard of worries that involve driving while using a laptop, driving while using OnStar, (and) driving while faxing…We should just be focused on teaching people to actually drive when they’re driving. ”

Has Asus forgotten what the Eee PC was all about?
ZD Net
Adrian Kingsley-Hughes offers his thoughts on Asus’ Eee PC mini notebook.

I thought that the Eee PC was all about packing as much punch into a small, cheap package as possible. If that’s the case then why is Asus continually making the Eee bigger, faster, and more expensive? Here’s the latest (as yet unconfirmed) rumor by DigiTimes: ‘The Eee PC 904 and 905 will adopt Atom processors and the major difference between the two and the previous 901 model is that they feature a bigger keyboard. Asustek is still evaluating whether to make changes to the two models’ battery and storage capacity.’”

E-mail giving way to Web 2.0
Computer World
Luis Suarez shares how he’s able to keep his e-mail inbox manageable.

“I stopped using e-mail most of the time. I quickly realized that the more messages you answer, the more messages you generate in return. It becomes a vicious cycle. By trying hard to stop the cycle, I cut the number of e-mails that I receive by 80 percent in a single week. The first step was to decide which social software tools were available for me to use much more extensively. The second was to encourage people to stop using e-mail themselves and to start using some of these same social software tools as well, to share their knowledge and collaborate with one another.”
