Blogging idol and social networking
IT World Canada
Don Sheppard looks at the concept of blogging and social networks.
“Both blogging and social networks are far more real-time for larger groups than has been available with e-mail and telephony. How much is the information passed around using blogs and social networks? It can be very personal, it can be generally useful or very specialized, and it can be of wide or narrow interest. I think there’s a lot to be learned about what to write, how to write for Blogs, and how to maintain the enthusiasm when it takes away from other things (such as billable work for clients!).”
Networking
Network World
Mary Finlay offers some advice on how to best network yourself.
“I haven’t met a successful person yet who didn’t get help along the way in their career. A network made up of professionals in your field is one way to get this kind of help. Joining an organization such as SIM (Society for Information Management, a national organization for IT professionals) is a great way to get started in building your network.”
Belkin races to clothe 3G iPhone

Charlie Sorrel writes that Belkin will be offering protective cases for the new 3G iPhone.
“It appears that, rather than being in on the design ahead of time, these are slight re-workings of Belkin’s existing lines, resized to fit the new design. Prices range from $13 up to $35. Belkin still has a while to actually get these out of the factory — the cases ship in July.”
