Israeli network security vendor Check Point Software Technologies has announced the launch of its new Check Point 1100 Appliances, designed to provide enterprise-class security in a compact desktop package for branch and remote offices.
According to the vendor, the 100 Appliances offer 1.5 Gbps of max firewall throughput, 220 Mbps of max VPN throughput and a 31 SecurityPower unit (SPU) rating. They leverage Check Point’s Software Blade Architecture to help organizations meet current and future requirements. It’s the first time Check Point is bringing the entire breadth of its software blade architecture to appliances designed for the entry-level market, priced at $599.
The vendor said this will allow customers to deploy any combination of multi-layered protections, including: Firewall, VPN, IPS, Application Control, Mobile Access, Data Loss Prevention, Anti-Bot, Identity Awareness, URL Filtering, Anti-spam and Antivirus.
Since cybercriminals will often target the weak point in a corporate network, Check Point said it was a priority to offer a higher level of security at a lower price to allow businesses to upgrade security at remote and branch offices.
“Branch offices can be considered enterprises’ weakest link. Security solutions for remote sites cannot be neglected, regardless of the site’s size or purpose,” said Paul Comessotti, Canadian regional director for Check Point, in a statement. “The 1100 Appliances offer Check Point’s industry-leading security for branch offices and come complete with customizable management, optimal performance and appropriate hardware pricing and design.”
The Check Point 1100 Appliances come pre-loaded with Check Point’s industry-leading security technologies for small offices of one to 100 employees. The appliances offer flexible and intuitive local web-based management and/or profile-based centralized management through Check Point’s SmartCenter.
The 1100 Appliances are available now through the Check Point partner channel.
