CA Canada solution providers will have their blind side protected now that the company has Mike Jovanovich as is new channel chief.
He was formerly with NetApp as its district sales manager.
Jovanovich was chosen in the second round of the 1991 CFL draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats but opted to sign with Seattle SeaHawks of the NFL as an undrafted rookie free-agent. He later when on to play for the Tiger-Cats, the Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa Rough Riders and finished his football career with the Montreal Alouettes.
As CA Canada channel chief, Jovanovich plans to drive value across multiple environments including mobile, private and public cloud, distributed and mainframe, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also said that the goal is to be recognized by CA Canada customers as their critical partner in the new application economy.
Jovanovich got his start in the channel as a sales associate for EMC Canada in 1997 shortly after his playing career came to an end. He later joined Kanatek Technologies, a CDN Top 100 Solution Provider. Besides NetApp and EMC, Jovanovich also worked for Sun Microsystems.
Jovanovich comes to CA at a significant time in its history. Last month CA set free one of its top channel selling products in ArcServe. ArcServe is now an independent company.
