To mark its 40th anniversary in Canada, Canon announced that it has purchased land in the Toronto suburb of Brampton, Ont. to build a new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters.
The new headquarters will occupy approximately 190,000 square feet on five levels and will be built on 18-acres of land located on the northwest corner of Steeles Avenue and Mississauga Road in Brampton.
Details of the construction timeline have not been finalized.
Kevin Ogawa, President and CEO of Canon Canada, said over the past few years, as Canon continued to expand its business operations across Canada, it became clear that it had outgrown the current head office facility. The new location will allow Canon to grow well into the future and provide staff with an LEED-certified building, reflective of the company’s commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell said she was thrilled that Canon Canada will open its new corporate headquarters in Brampton. “It’s a great boost to Brampton’s economy.”
Canon Canada plans to maintain its current head office location in another Toronto suburb, Mississauga, Ont., as a warehouse and distribution centre.
