CDN News Roundup: Top newsmakers and new programs

It’s a new year and vendors and distributors are marking it with new products and programs. A new year also means looking back at the past one. We take a look at what’s new and what was new in the channel in this edition of the CDN News Roundup.

CDN had a great Twitter chat on the careers of women in IT and technology, with participants creating a great conversation and sharing a lot of insights. Thanks again to our Twitter chat guest experts, Fariba Anderson and Shann McGrail. Read on for the recap!

Citrix Systems Inc. announced a new partner program that offers the ability for solution providers to specialize in their provisioning and differentiate themselves in the market.

Value added distributor Westcon Group has undergone several major changes in an effort to align its business globally. The distributor has consolidated operations to just four regions around the world and eliminated several brands they attained through acquisitions.

Cisco Systems is well known in the market place as a networking power, but in terms of security, it is not one of the most recognizable brands. The company is trying to change that and it has created the Global Security Sales Organization (GSSO).

Splits, acquisitions, and even arrests – in 2014 we saw it all. Be it for good or bad, CDN’s list of Top 25 Newsmakers of 2014 looks at the people, groups and stories that made the biggest splash this past year. Seven fresh faces came from Lenovo, IBM, Nutanix, BlackBerry, Cisco, Huawei and even the RCMP. There may be more than a couple of surprises.
