But while technology vendors talked about wearables Samsung may have been the only major vendor to release wearables into the market on a semi-regular fashion. You have to give credit to James Politeski, Samsung Canada president for making wearables a priority for the company in Canada.

Case in point: Samsung Canada’s new Gear S wearable will allow users to do more, even when they’re not tethered to their smartphone.

The Gear S was one of many wearables from Samsung’s Gear line. The Gear S features a new curved design and 3G connectivity and new functionality for users, whether they’re connected to their smartphones or not.

One of the main things that make many smartwatches not so smart is that they need to be paired with a mobile phone in order for its user to receive and make calls.
