Eric Gales, a perennial CDN Top 25 Newsmaker, would admit he had an uneven year in 2015. Gales left the leadership of VMware Canada in a unique way.
VMware embarked on a North American regional strategy, a strategy that Gales supported and even worked on. But that new strategy would mean the Canadian subsidiary would be without a country manager. Gales was, essentially, out of a job.
But Gales never hit the unemployment line as he landed the country manager post at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Canada.
The highly popular Gales joins AWS Canada as director. Amazon has been providing Web services offerings in Canada since 2005, but this will be the first time it has established roots in the country.
