Channel chief spotlight: Renzo DiPasquale

Renzo DiPasquale

As an original founding member of the board of directors of the Canadian Channel Chiefs Council (C4), Renzo DiPasquale is a veteran leader in the channel community.

In his current role as vice-president of enterprise sales for Avaya Canada, DiPasquale is responsible for the networking vendor’s go to market strategy in Canada. The position is a promotion received last fall from the role of vice-president, channels. Before joining Avaya, DiPasquale held channel leadership roles with Hummingbird, Digital Equipment Corporation and Prime.

We recently asked DiPasquale to share his thoughts on being a channel chief, on the role C4 can play in furthering the position, and his advice to his fellow channel chiefs.

C4: Why did you want to become a channel chief?

DiPasquale: I believe that to achieve great success in any industry or marketplace requires building an ecosystem of partners that can add value to the solutions that vendors provide.  I have always enjoyed working with partners and understanding what makes their business a success and how they continue to innovate and re-invent themselves in the ever-changing landscape in the ICT industry.  It is also very rewarding to see both new and existing partners grow their businesses over the years and become a vital extension of our brand and culture.

C4: Why do you think an association as C4 is important?

DiPasquale: C4 is an important association as it strives to elevate the importance of the Channel Chief role in organizations across the IT Industry.  Every organization is utilizing channels to expand and diversify in every segment of their specific business and the Channel Chief role becomes more vital as new and existing routes to market are evaluated and pursued.  It’s paramount that Channel Chiefs obtain a seat at the executive table in an organization to help define and execute a winning strategy to successfully compete, win and grow market share in the tech sector.  Also, C4 will be able to offer channel executives as well as Channel managers a standardized learning and accreditation curriculum that will be recognized by the IT Industry.
