Cloud vendor appoints first MSP channel chief

Artisan Infrastructure is a channel-centric provider of cloud infrastructure, cloud management and business continuity products.

Artisan’s managed services channel program has recently gone through a significant growth cycle and its has prompted the Austin, Tex.-based company to hire a channel chief specific to managed services providers.

In a perfect storm type of scenario, Chris Wiser sold his MSP TechSquad IT to Waident Technologies of Chicago freeing him up to become Artisan’s first ever MSP channel chief.

Wiser served as CEO of TechSquad IT for a decade and in the past three years tripled his MSP company’s revenue and added several new employees. During his tenure, he also established a successful subsidiary lead-generation and appointment-setting tool company known as MSP Leads, which accelerated sales growth.

Brian Hierholzer, CEO of Artisan said the addition of Wiser is a natural fit for both parties. At Artisan Wiser has a mandate to design and building out the MSP channel.

According to a Goldman Sachs report on cloud computing, spending on cloud infrastructure and platforms is expected to grow at a 30 per cent CAGR through 2018 compared with five per cent growth for overall enterprise IT. Artisan plans to position itself in this space to leverage the cloud infrastructure and services opportunity through its channel ecosystem and to capitalize on this area of growth.

With Wiser on board, Hierholzer believes it will lead to the development of MSPs in the delivery of Artisan Infrastructure’s cloud-based solutions.

Wiser said it is his goal to grow the company’s channel partner program and increase the number of active MSPs who will benefit from our tailored solutions.
