Telesphere: Communications as a Service For MSPs?

Matthew Weinberger writes about a hosted PBX voice-over IP (VoIP) service offering for MSPs from a company called Telesphere.
“Like other cloud Internet telephony services, Telesphere says their business advantage is in taking the “brains” out of the phone closet and into a managed data facility where engineers watch over your phone system 24 x 7. And with the ‘Telesphere Complete’ service, the company will even provide the equipment and maintenance for a flat fee. And in the event of power loss at the local site, Telesphere keeps voicemail working and will reroute calls to customer-specified numbers.”

“Look out, world — Seagate’s got a new portable hard drive comin’ your way, and it’s as capacious as ever. If you’ll recall, Western Digital broke the 1TB mark in the diminutive 2.5-inch drive sector back in July of last year, and now we’re seeing a 50 per cent boost with the 1.5TB FreeAgent GoFlex ultra-portable drive. The company’s claims that this is a first of its kind, and we certainly aren’t in the mood to argue. It’s designed to play nice with both Macs and PCs (it’s formatted as NTFS), and better still, it’s all set up to take advantage of that shiny new USB 3.0 port on your shiny new laptop.”
Nokia Delays N8 Release Date to October

Stan Schroeder provides an update on Nokia’s delayed launch of its N8 smartphone.
“Just two weeks ago Nokia set the end of September as the official launch date for its flagship Symbian^3 smartphone, the N8. But it has now delayed the launch for October. ‘In some markets, we had planned to start delivering the N8s to our pre-order customers by the end of September. To ensure a great user experience, we have decided to hold the shipments for a few weeks to do some final amends (…) we expect consumers to get their Nokia N8s during October,’ Nokia said in a statement.”
