Digital intelligence vendor makes healthcare cool

As the Internet of Things trend continues to gain momentum in the marketplace; very few Canadian solution providers have specialized in this area.

Toronto-based ThoughtWire Corp.’s platform is 100 per cent home grown with patents issued in Canada, the U.S., U.K. and Germany.

Recently in Gartner’s annual report of cool vendors in the healthcare field it named ThoughtWire as one of those providers. ThoughtWire was the only Canadian company listed.

ThoughtWire, through the Ambiant platform, has built a real-time health system that can take advantage of the new capabilities of today’s digital hospitals to improve patient care and the patient experience while simultaneously helping their staff.

ThoughtWire CEO & Co-Founder Michael Monteith said getting the Gartner Cool Vendor recognition for the work the company is doing is “a real honour.”

In the Cool Vendors Report, Gartner found that connected, real-time healthcare network of networks is essential and new vendors that address interoperability, real-time data and information exchange, and virtual care capabilities have emerged in the market.

The Internet of Things marketplace currently has a potential value of $19 trillion globally. Cisco Systems, which is a big proponent of the IoT broke down the amount this way:

ThoughtWire has also forged a global partnership with CDN Top 100 member Mindful Experience. Mindful Experience has entered into a five year distribution agreement with ThoughtWire. The partnership will focus on several opportunities with Digital Hospitals and Smart Building implementations.

“We launched the distribution business unit for companies like ThoughtWire with great technology solutions that wanted to leverage our unique access into the P3/large construction marketplace, our unique partner ecosystem, and our growing engineering and support teams” said Chris Carbone – EVP and Co-Founder of Mindful Experience.
