Looking to better serve Canadian clients that want to keep their data within our borders, an Atlanta-based provider of mobile security and enterprise mobility management solutions has opened its first Canadian data centre.

According to AirWatch, the customer base in Canada for its EMM solutions has grown by more than 400 per cent in the last year, and its clients want their data protected within Canada’s borders. Accordingly, AirWatch is now providing its Canadian customers with a tier 3 data centre in the Toronto area through hosting provider Savvis. The Savvis data centre delivers cloud, colocation and managed-hosting services, and fails over to Europe.

“We are committed to providing our customers in Canada the ability to fully manage their mobile fleets and protect corporate data on mobile devices,” said John Marshall, president and CEO of AirWatch, in a statement. “Our expansion with cloud hosting in Canada ensures data sovereignty, in addition to our existing support for customers with our dedicated Canadian sales and support team and resources in both official languages.”

AirWatch hosts 15 data centres globally. It goes to market through service provider, reseller and referral partner models.
