EVault takes a stab at the enterprise market

EVault Inc., a backup and recovery cloud vendor that’s wholly owned by Seagate Technology, is gearing up and down market.

The company, which started back in 1997, has squarely played in the mid-market space and has found success there with more than 43,000 customers. But with a new set of appliance products EVault is looking to build up its channel presence in the enterprise and small business areas.

EVault introduced four new appliances that are scalable to both small business and the enterprise, while providing failproof cloud-connected back and recovery.

The products are:

These new appliances come with EVault Replication software included, which enables the channel to safeguard customer data by replicating it to a separate location via a secure, bandwidth-optimized transfer.

EVault Appliances are powered by EVault Software, disk-based backup and recovery software. Every backup is a delta backup – changes are tracked at the block level – so backup storage is kept small and network bandwidth usage is minimized. Every restore is a single-pass restore, and with the option to use the included bare metal recovery product, EVault System Restore.

Appliance prices start at $2,000.
