At one point VMware Canada looked rudderless. Now, in the span of a few months, VMware Canada has hired Dell Canada channel chief Tara Fine and today CDN has learned former Symantec and Veritas Canada country manager Sean Forkan has been named the new vice president and country manager of VMware Canada.
Forkan departed Veritas in April of 2016 shortly after the company officially became independent of Symantec. At the time, Forkan was vice president of sales for Central United States and Canada.
The McMaster University graduate has more than two decades of experience with noted vendors such as Cisco Systems Canada and Oracle Canada, where he was area vice president for the subsidiary.
The multiple CDN Newsmaker has a track record of increasing channel direction and resources at every stop in his career.
He joins Fine who transferred to VMware Canada from Dell Canada in Oct. of 2016. Fine replaced Donna Wittmann who is still at VMware Canada but has taken an extended leave of absence.
Forkan takes the reigns at VMware Canada just as the virtualization leader update of its flagship VMware vSphere, VMware vSAN products. These two products were once called Virtual SAN.
This release was followed up with VMware Cross-Cloud Architecture, which enables customers to run, manage, connect, and secure apps across clouds and devices in a common operating environment.
