Professional development is a key part of the Canadian Channel Chiefs Council (C4) mandate, and a very hot topic – cloud computing – will be the focus of the first C4 professional development seminar.
Cloud computing is on the minds of customers, vendors and partners these days – there’s no escaping the hype. For channel chiefs, cutting through the marketing hype around cloud computing can be a real challenge. Some see it could be a license to print money, but in reality getting to the cloud could be one of the hardest, most expensive propositions a business executive can undertake.
For its first professional development seminar for channel chiefs — From Cloud Illusions to Cloud Realities: Cutting through the Hype – C4 has developed a program focusing on cloud and business transformation featuring real insight and advice from Darren Bibby of IDC, as well as leading Canadian cloud service provider and law firm.
The session will take participants beyond the hype, exploring areas such as:
- the business case for why channel partners need to move to the cloud and how channel professionals within IT vendor organizations can help them get there
- the seven business transformations channel partners will need to make to succeed in the new world of Cloud, Analytics, Mobile and Social
- how one company has successfully created a cloud business
- legal considerations – from contract negotiations to data ownership.
The course takes place on August 20, 2014 in Toronto. Registration is just $399+HST for C4 members, and $499 for non-members. Click here for more information and to register.
