Server monitoring and management solutions provider GSX is partnering with BlackBerry to deploy its server analysis solution to BES clients.
According to Antoine Leboyer, CEO of GSX, both his company and BlackBerry recognized the need for a solution that would ensure smooth operation of BlackBerry’s mobile servers.
“BlackBerry contacted us and asked us to look at BlackBerry Enterprise Server 12,” he said. “They explained … their renewed focus on the enterprise business, and we felt it was something that made sense. We felt that there was a real need for that in the market.”
The GSX Monitor and Analyzer solutions are agentless and work together to provide real-time monitoring, automated trend reporting and availability forecasting of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to ensure “performance and availability… allowing issues to be identified before they impact the end users,” according to the official product page.
While this is not the first time that GSX and BlackBerry have offered these types of solutions – they also work on Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Lync, SharePoint and IBM messaging & collaboration applications – this deal would make the partnership “systematic,” according to Leboyer.
“BlackBerry has not only worked on the development side with us; our product is now on their catalog,” said Leboyer. He explained that when the BlackBerry sales team identifies a need among customers for their environments to be monitored, it would deploy the solution rather than defer to GSX.
“We feel there is a renewed spirit right now at BlackBerry,” said Leboyer. “We like the way BlackBerry is articulating its focus on enterprise.”
