The iPhone X debuted. So that’s written with the Roman numeral “X” but Apple was pronouncing it as 10 at the event. The most premium device is positioned as being over and above the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, which were also launched yesterday. To set it apart, Apple has made the iPhone X with an edge-to-edge 5.8 inch display. It also has Face ID, using facial recognition instead of the familiar Touch ID, since there’s no Home button on the device. Not only does Face ID unlock your phone and work with Apple Pay, it can also be used to animate 12 different “animoji” including a cartoon cat, panda, pig, and robot. Plus, there’s wireless charging. In Canada, the iPhone X pricing starts at $1319 and ranges up to $1529. It will be on the market Nov. 3.

Apple also unveiled the Series 3 edition of the Apple Watch. The big news here is that there’s now a cellular model of smart watch to buy, so buyers don’t have to stay tethered to an iPhone. Users can send texts or make phone calls using just the Watch itself, or stream songs from Apple Music and talk to Siri. The watch is waterproof enough to wear while swimming. It can also measure your heart rate and help you track all of your fitness data. Apple Watch Series 3 goes on sale September 22nd. The LTE version will cost $519 and the non-cellular version $429.

Apple TV 4K is adding 4K resolution and high dynamic range to this over-the-top TV box. Apple focused on showcasing the different streaming services on its platform, with more than 60 available. Apple TV is available as an app on all iOS devices and it supports continuous playback across multiple devices. Also, users can ask Siri to play the content they want to watch. No more worrying about losing that remote under the couch cushion.
