Hewlett-Packard Co. wants to make it easier for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to buy technology – and to do it through the channel.
The vendor has launched several new offerings designed to make technology more consumable for SMBs.
“HP is helping channel partners and business customers realize the vast benefits of bundling hardware, services, solutions, as well as offering them as a service,” said Enrique Lores, senior vice-president and general manager, business personal systems at HP, in a statement. “The end results for our customers are worry-free, turnkey IT—and more time to ensure success for their core business.”
The first offering is HP SMB Solutions. Building on a previously announced collaboration with Google, these are pre-curated bundles of hardware, software, services and solutions from HP and other technology providers.
Available exclusively to SMBs through HP’s channel partners, the bundles combine HP solutions with offerings from other vendors, such as AT&T and Google. They’re ordered through a comprehensive portal designed to help SMBs understand technology trends and how they can improve their businesses.
One of the services being offered is HP Business Helpdesk, which will provide 24/7 technical support to SMBs for a variety of PC and software applications running on Microsoft, Apple and Android operating systems, and related hardware issues.
The second offering, called HPFS Partner Connection, allows SMBs to purchases those pre-curated bundles as well as stand-alone hardware products as a monthly subscription billing. SMBs can return or upgrade the equipment at the end of the contract period.
HP SMB Solutions are available in North America now to Synnex resellers, with other distributors to follow. The helpdesk solution will be available later in the year, and HPFS Partner Connection tool be available to Canadian partners in June.
