EMC ups outlook, rides data center upgrade wave

“EMC delivered a better-than-expected second quarter on Wednesday and raised its outlook amid strong demand for storage as data centres are upgraded. EMC expects IT spending to be up three per cent to five per cent in 2010.”
Toshiba reveals Smart Pad tablet computer prototype

HP confirms that Slate is still kicking, ‘next steps’ being determined

“HP officially confirmed … that the (HP Slate 500) is still very much in the works. The outfit’s not sharing much, but a spokesperson from its Personal Systems group did tell us that they’re ‘in customer evaluations now and will make a determination soon on the next steps.’”
