Two global IT companies are teaming up in the hyperconvergence market.
SimpliVity, one of the top providers of hyperconverged infrastructure solutions on the market, announced today a vendor alliance with China-based networking and telecommunications provider Huawei Technologies that will see its OmniStack technology available for sale on Huawei’s FusionServer.
According to a joint press release, OmniStack with Huawei FusionServer will combine all IT infrastructure and advanced data services into a compact, scalable 2U rack-mounted building block for virtualized workloads onto Huawei FusionServer RH2288H V3. It will be offered on SimpliVity’s all-flash hyperconverged models and improve the efficiency, management, protection, and performance of virtualized environments.
SimpliVity’s OmniStack technology combines the company’s data virtualization platform software and its purpose-built accelerator card into a hyperconverged infrastructure solution.
The companies say that together, these technologies will integrate storage, compute, hypervisor, storage networking, in-line deduplication, compression, and optimization along with comprehensive data management, data mobility, built-in data protection, and automated disaster recovery capabilities.
Executives from both companies, which are the fastest growing companies in their respective categories, according to Gartner estimates, praised the partnership, saying it will bring value to their customers around the world.
This deal comes as competition in the hyperconvergence market heats up, with Cisco Systems launching its HyperFlex System in March this year and Dell’s ongoing partnership with Nutanix, who is the leader in hyperconverged technology.
