Industry vets from Veritas and Microsoft join Commvault

Commvault’s global partner program appointed two new executives this week, a move the software company says will help them become a more partner-led business.

Rick Fairweather joined as vice-president of Americas channels alongside Mark Fong, the new VP of Asia Pacific channels and alliances. Fairweather comes from Veritas, where he served as the VP of the Americas partner organization. Prior to that, he held sales and channel leadership roles at Cisco.

After holding multiple leadership roles in channel and direct selling at Progress Software, Symantec, Oracle and Microsoft, Fong led channel and alliance sales throughout the Asia Pacific and Japan region at Equinix. In a press release Tuesday, Commvault said the two new hires will help deliver “innovative programs” to partners and drive growth across the company’s solution portfolio.

“Senior executive leaders with proven experience are joining Commvault to drive our partner-led strategy at Commvault,” said Owen Taraniuk, head of worldwide partnerships and market development. “These newest leaders demonstrate Commvault’s continued commitment to partners and is yet another indicator of how the company is working to be the partner of choice for our growing ecosystem.”

Fairweather and Fong are the latest executives joining Commvault’s partner and alliances organization. The company recently named Wenceslao Lada as VP of worldwide alliances.
