Firefox 3.6 hits ice – won’t show up till Spring

Kelly Fiveash shares some details about Mozilla’s upcoming Firefox 3.6 browser release.
“Mozilla has delayed the release of Firefox 3.6 until the first quarter of 2010. The outfit had been promising to deliver the next iteration of its celebrated browser before the decade was out. However, despite spinning out no less than five betas of Firefox 3.6, the final version of the browser won’t ship until next year.”
3Com profit bump surprises Street

Timothy Prickett Morgan writes about 3Com’s second quarter results for its fiscal 2010 calendar year.
“In the quarter ended November 27, 3Com posted sales of $322.2 million, down 9.1 per cent compared to the year-ago period. The company said that it did see sequential revenue growth across all major geographies in the quarter, with a ‘solid recovery’ in Europe and Latin America and ‘continued strong performance’ in China. 3Com is ramping down its sales partnership with Huawei Technologies in China, with sales down 35.3 per cent to $18.2 million in the quarter, while direct sales in China rose by 21.9 per cent to $151.1 million.”
Lenovo entering the e-book reader ring?

Rachel King offers her thoughts on a rumoured electronic reader product from Lenovo.
“At this rate, e-book readers will be the gadget of 2010, with rumours buzzing that laptop-maker Lenovo will also be developing an electronic reader of its own soon. Of course, there hasn’t been anything confirmed, but there aren’t any denials either. Hopefully, we’ll see some concrete information soon. Personally, I think the more e-readers out there the better. It makes the market more competitive, pushing manufacturers to develop more features and, most importantly, bring the currently exorbitant prices down.”
