Prime Minister Stephen Harper shuffled his federal cabinet in Ottawa on Monday, and Canada’s IT sector now has a new man in Ottawa: Christian Paradis from Quebec is out, and James Moore form British Columbia is in.
Moore is the new Industry minister, and will have responsibility for a number of files important to Canada’s IT community, from the still in development digital strategy to telecom regulation and all matters spectrum.

The shuffle also saw Diane Finley take over for Rona Ambrose in Public Works and Government Services, the ministry with responsibility for Shared Services Canada, which is overseeing the centralization of IT procurement and service delivery.
And we also now have a new minister of state for science and technology: Kenora MP Greg Rickford.
