Cisco viewed as boring but trustworthy by consumers

Cisco Subnet reveals results from a recent poll conducted by ABI Research that measures where Cisco compares to other companies such as Sony and Microsoft.
“Sixteen per cent perceived Cisco to be a trusted brand, compared to the leader Sony (30 per cent), 12 per cent of respondents said Cisco produced quality products/services (Sony scored the most with 22 per cent), 13 per cent said Cisco had cutting-edge technology, compared to leaders Intel (20 per cent), Apple (19 per cent), Microsoft (15 per cent), and Sony (14 per cent), Cisco is considered ‘cool/trendy’ by five per cent of respondents, trailing behind leader Apple (22 per cent).”
AMD spins dual-core Phenom Cartwheel

Cade Metz writes about AMD’s new dual-core Athlon chips, which are designed for low-cost home PCs.
“On Monday, the beleaguered chip manufacturer rolled out what it’s calling the 2.5GHz Athlon X2 7550 and the 2.7GHz Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition. Previously, dual-core Athlons used AMD’s aging K8 microprocessor design, but these chips benefit from the newer K10 (aka “10h”) architecture at the heart of its Phenom processors: the triple-core Phenom X3 and the quad-core Phenom X4.”
