Stealth Computer Corp. has brought out a Core 2 Duo mini PC small enough to fit in the palm of a hand.
The Woodbridge, Ont. company’s LPC-450 Little PC is said to deliver performance up to five times faster than its predecessor, and still housed in the same small rugged chassis design.
It utilizes Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processor technology inside a rugged aluminum 5.7-inches wide by 9.9-in. deep by 1.65-in. high, or about the size of a hard cover novel.
The device includes Gigabit LAN, Serial, 3-USB 2.0, FireWire, Video, Audio, PS/2 Mouse & Keyboard ports.
It has a built-in 2.5” high-shock hard drive with up to 160GB’s of storage space for archived data. For applications that require extra high shock, vibration and wide temperature ranges an optional Solid State Hard Drive or Flash Drive is available.
A slim DVD/CD-RW optical drive comes standard with an optional DVD burner available.
Systems are compatible with Microsoft Vista/XP, Linux, and can be custom configured .
Systems are shipping now with prices starting at US$1,395.00, depending on configurations.
The LittlePC products can be used in digital signs, POSs andkiosks, embedded control systems, as thin clients and point of sale systems.
