Network security vendor Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. is targeting small businesses with its new 600 Appliances, offering protection against the latest cyber attacks, including viruses, spam, and malicious web sites with 1.5 Gbps of firewall throughput.

The 600 Appliances come pre-loaded with enterprise-class capabilities, including firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-virus, anti-spam, application control, and URL filtering, and are designed to be easy to set up and manage, even by non-IT professionals. Web-based management options are offered through a simple user interface and security policies are pre-defined.

“It’s no longer just the larger businesses that are being attacked, but companies with a hundred employees or less are also lucrative targets, and no business sector is immune,” said Paul Comessotti, Canadian regional director at Check Point. “With limited resources, small businesses are often not equipped to deal with the expert cybercriminal. The 600 Appliances solve this problem and offer small businesses an inexpensive, yet comprehensive security solution that provide secure access to critical resources anywhere anytime, while minimizing the risk of a data breach.”

Designed for small offices of up to 100 employees, the 600 Appliances come in three models starting at $399 and are available now through the Check Point’s channel partners.
