SAN FRANCISCO — Novell Inc. showcased its flagship security and identity management solutions at the RSA Conference here.
Called SentinelTM 6 and Identity Manager 3.5, these products have new features to help customers ensure security and compliance when deployed together, the company said.
Kent Erickson, Novell’s VP and GM for identity and security management, said today’s dynamic IT environments require advanced security and real-time monitoring features.
Sentinel 6 focuses on new capabilities in correlation, incident management workflow and its data connectivity framework. With Sentinel 6, Novell is extending its localized language support to nine with the addition of Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified and Japanese, and adding platform support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, Solaris 10 and Oracle 10. For customers of Novell Audit, Novell’s audit and logging facility, this release of Sentinel delivers a clear upgrade opportunity for customers that require an enterprise-wide security and compliance solution.
Novell Identity Manager 3.5 is an update to Novell’s user provisioning and metadirectory solution. To facilitate regulatory compliance, it features additional support for role management to ensure separation of duties and simplify attestation. In addition, Novell said it continues to focus on innovations designed to make the deployment process faster, more repeatable and more predictable. Novell Identity Manager 3.5 also features advanced integration with Novell’s access management solutions, Novell Access Manager and SecureLogin, so that users are simultaneously provisioned a user account and single sign-on to target systems.
Sentinel 6 and Novell Identity Manager 3.5 will be generally available in the first half of this year.
