Oracle Q1 sales down, profit up

Timothy Prickett Morgan recaps Oracle’s first quarter of its fiscal 2010 year results.
“New software license sales were down 17 per cent to just over $1 billion, but software license updates and product support rose six per cent, to $3.11 billion. For the fiscal second quarter, Oracle expects earnings of between 26 cents and 27 cents per share, up from 25 cents per share in the second quarter of fiscal 2009. Overall sales should be anywhere from flat to up three per cent.”
