Zend is expanding its sales team and partner channel after adding 4,000 new customers and growing revenue from enterprise site license subscriptions by 45 per cent in 2012. A revamped channel program will be part of the vendor’s push to capitalize on that momentum.
Zend helped establish the PHP language, popular with applications and web sites, and Zend Server is an application platform for developing, deploying and managing business-critical applications in PHP.
“Since the release of the latest version of Zend Server in February, we’ve seen increasing momentum in customer demand,” said Zend CEO Andi Gutmans in a statement. “Our platform is powering the next generation of mobile and cloud-based enterprise PHP applications, which is why interest in our solutions continues to grow. We’re excited to better serve our burgeoning community of Zend users, particularly in the rapidly-growing EMEA region and globally through our channel partners.”
Zend relies on partners to help provide Zend Server to users as part of a turnkey solution for developing, deploying and automating web and mobile applications, in the cloud and on-premise. Solution partners provide expertise and knowledge to help Zend clients develop and deploy PHP applications.

The Zend Solution Partner program offers partner-specific technical support and resources, in-depth sales and technical training, sales incentives, access to a dedicated partner portal for marketing and sales materials, use of Zend software for development purposes, and the ability to partner with Zend sales and technical resources to address new client opportunities. It has three tiers: Zend Select Partner, Zend Advanced Partner and Zend Premier Partner.
