Toronto-based distributor Karis Technologies is bringing the Rhino Box environmentally controlled, transportable site enclosure to Canada.
Karis has been named the master distributor of the product that can support a range of deployment scenarios from arctic (-30°F/-34°C), desert/arid (160°F/71°C), and equatorial/humid conditions and is field proven on the U.S. / Canada alpine border by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency.
According to Karis, the Rhino Box can be monitored and controlled remotely with a PC, smartphone or iPad making on-site maintenance unnecessary. A WAN connection enables the Rhino to be monitored and controlled from anywhere in the world. Built with a field-tested high-impact, thick-skinned polyurethane case, Rhino Box enclosures range from 5U to 14U with custom options.
Rhino Box is made by Metric Systems of California. The newest Rhino Box was released in March and is a rugged transportable site enclosure with climatic control technology. An embedded processor controlling eight (8) independent 150 CFM fans maintains up to a 1000-Watt internal equipment thermal load to within 5 degrees of ambient temperature, surpassing recommended operating conditions of nearly all commercial and industrial equipment.
Chris Williams, president of Karis Technologies, said the range of operating scenarios is unsurpassed with the Rhino Box and ideal for companies that must deploy high value technology assets and operate in unique environments. In addition, the Rhino has been field proven with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency on the U.S. Alpine border with Canada and the hot Arizona desert.
