While its plans for Canada aren’t clear, we do know Samsung won’t be bringing a Windows RT tablet to the U.S.
In what has to be taken as a disappointing setback for Windows developer Microsoft Corp., Samsung told CNET that Samsung’s Ativ Tab running Windows RT, the cheaper and less functional version of Windows that can only run apps from the Windows 8 app store, would not be released in the U.S. According to Samsung, it would have been challenging (and expensive) to educate the market on Windows RT vs. Windows, and retail partners were “modest” in their interest.
