Hot on the heels of StorMagic’s new partnership with Lenovo, Scality has announced it is working with Dell to create storage solutions.
The software-defined storage vendor has announced it will be deploying its RING petabyte-scale storage software on Dell’s enterprise infrastructure including server, storage, and networking hardware.
“Through this collaboration, Dell now will offer Scality RING-based solutions built on its Dell PowerEdge server, Dell Storage and Dell Networking portfolio,” Scality said in a statement.
While several configurations will be offered, Scality’s software is hardware agnostic. The companies are recommending combinations that include the Dell PowerEdge R730xd rack server as well as a combination of the Dell PowerEdge R630 rack server with Dell Storage MD3060e dense enclosures.
The Scality RING is a software-based storage platform that does not require qualification for use. Customers can deploy various capacity-dense servers across different generations simultaneously for mixed workload performance.
