When Microsoft Corp. announced Windows Server 2012 would be released in September at its Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Toronto, it made sure it prepared the solution provider channel with new programs to give them training and software tools for early customer deployments; especially those customers who were interested in moving from VMware’s virtual infrastructure to the Microsoft’s cloud.
Satya Nadella, president of Microsoft’s server and tools business, called Windows Server 2012 a “huge milestone,” for the company. Nadella pointed out three new features: high density Web sites, virtual machine hosting, and unified self-service management portal.

But those are not the only things to get excited about. Recently Paul Ferrill of InfoWorld reviewed the product and found seven other features that could ensure investment protection.
They are: Storage Spaces, Hyper-V 3.0, PowerShell 3.0, Failover clusters, Data deduplication, SMB 3.0, and Scale-out file server.
