Hewlett-Packard Co. will continue to provide Symantec security products on its PCs and notebooks, extending a existing contract in to a new multi-year argeement.
Under the terms of the new agreement, HP consumer desktop and notebook PCs will be shipped with a 60-day version of Norton Internet Security. Consumers purchasing an HP desktop or notebook PC will have access to the Internet security solutions on their desktop.
Enrique Salem, president of Symantec’s consumer business unit, said the Norton security solutions for HP products will feature a full range of protection that is automatic, powerful, and easy to understand and use. As consumers continue to work and play in the connected world, security solutions such as Norton Internet Security provide them the confidence that their information and activities are safe and secure from new and emerging Internet threats, he said.
New HP consumer PCs will be pre-installed with the latest compatible version of Norton Internet Security.
