Synnex Canada is inviting the industry to attend the annual robotics competition held by First Canada at Ryerson University.
The distributor has partnered with First, also known as the Greater Toronto Central Region For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, since 2011 through sponsorship, coaching and judging in competitions, and participating in its advisory board.
First, formed in 2001, is meant to improve the availability of robotics programs in Canada. The competition brings together more than 200 teams of high school students to build and compete with their own designs and receive mentorship from engineers.
“The financial support from Synnex, as well as from all our sponsors, has helped FIRST Canada grow its programs, extend the reach of the competitions, and impact more students throughout Canada,” Mark Breadner, executive director at FIRST Canada said in a statement.
