The Green Grid, a global consortium of companies, government agencies, educational institutions and individuals dedicated to advancing resource efficiency in information technology and data centres, has confirmed that Upsite Technologies, Inc., an Albuquerque, N.M.-based solution provider with data centre airflow management expertise will join the consortium as a contributing member.
Airflow technology was an area The Green Grid wanted best practices and knowledge in to help it further the adoption of sustainability and efficiency in data centres.
Company founder Kenneth Brill has been instrumental in bringing awareness to the issue of proper data centre airflow management, and how it can be a cost-effective way for data centre managers to increase data centre efficiency while cutting costs.
For the last few years, Upsite Technologies has been offering data centre best practices through a range of white papers, including Bypass Airflow Clarified, as well as case studies and tools. For example, Upsite recently released a Cooling Capacity Factor Calculator, a tool that allows data centre managers to estimate the cooling capacity of their data centre.
