CompTIA Breakaway recap: “What do you think about Dell?”
MSPmentor
Joe Panettieri offers some thoughts towards Michael Dell’s mission to “increase shareholder value.”Here are paraphrased samplings of what I heard (at the CompTIA Breakaway conference): “From an outsourcing specialist: Dell’s managed services strategy makes sense but the company lacks face-to-face on-site services required for small business success. My reaction: I agree fully. The company will need to partner up to keep SMBs happy.”
Asus reveals yet another Eee PC: This time it’s brown

Charlie Sorrel describes the latest Eee PC being introduced by Asus.
“The S101, which looks less like an Eee and more like a regular laptop with a solid state drive jammed inside…(is) brown. The good news: It’s still small, with a 10.2 inch LED backlit screen. It should also be fast and less power hungry because of the Intel Atom chipset inside… The bad news: Price. The basic model, with a 32GB SSD, will cost $700. The 64GB version comes in at $900.”
Dell trademarks cloud computing

Paul Boutin explains here that just last month, Dell received trademark protection for the term “cloud computing.”
“U.S. law says that as soon as Dell begins using the term, it owns the trademark and can force other companies to stop using it. But realistically, would you try to sell ‘cloud computing’ to Wal-mart shoppers? Dell’s move will probably backfire by forcing other companies to come up with a more appealing term for the technology.”
