Adobe sales are flat in tough market
The Register
Kelly Fiveash writes about Adobe’s revenue for this year’s Q4.
“Adobe Inc saw revenue rise less than one per cent to $915.3m from $911.2m, notching up its slowest growth in seven quarters for Q4. Analyst: Apple Might be Dethroning Jobs
Wired
Brian Chen writes that Piper Jaffray, an analyst at Gene Munster, said that Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, may not be delivering a keynote at Macworld 2009 because he may soon be replaced.
“ Jaffray…told clients Wednesday that Jobs’ absence from Macworld likely signifies a ‘leadership shift is underway.’ Munster added that Phil Schiller, Apple senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, and Tim Cook, Apple chief operating officer, participated heavily in sharing the stage with Jobs at Apple’s October MacBook event. That, combined with Jobs’ absence at Macworld 2009, makes Munster believe that Apple is preparing to dethrone the CEO.”

“This coming year, economic and budgetary concerns will impact virtualization groups as much as the rest of the IT staff. Managers will be asked to do more with less. The first step likely will be to evaluate how their current resources are being deployed and how they can reduce waste. As 2008 comes to a close, another chapter in technology progress will end. The groundwork has been laid for a truly virtual datacenter and in 2009 we will continue to see innovative implementations that will have bigger impacts on an organization’s bottom line results.”
