Cisco’s collaboration platform is missing content management
Network World
Cisco Subnet writes what Cisco’s missing in its collaboration solution portfolio.

I-Sleep: laptop powered nap pillow
Wired
Charlie Sorrel provides details on a concept pillow called i-sleep.
“The idea is cute, but – we expect – destined to remain a concept. Ivonne Dippmann’s design has a few fatal flaws. The first is that you have to close the laptop to get things started, something which usually puts the computer itself to sleep. In order for the pillow to remain warm and puffy, it takes the warm air from the fan vent, which will be off. It also uses the computer’s music player to pump tunes into an integrated speaker. Again, off.”
Fring turns your iPhone into a free Skype phone
Webmonkey
Scott Gilbertson shares details about a new application from AT&T, called Fring, which allows iPhone/iPod Touch users to make VOIP calls when connected to wi-fi.
“Fring supports Sykpe, though of course to call non-Skype phones, you’ll need to purchase SkypeOut/SIP credits. In addition to the VOIP aspect, Fring also allows for IM conversations over all the networks (MSN Messenger, ICQ, Google Talk, Twitter, AIM and Yahoo buddy lists). Fring is free and you can grab a copy from the iTunes App Store.”
