HTC Announces New Customizable Android ‘Tattoo’ Phone

Priya Ganapati writes about HTC’s new smartphone device, called Tattoo.
“The device has a 2.8-inch touch screen display, a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, FM radio, GPS and expandable microSD memory. It integrates Google’s services such as maps, search and e-mail and runs HTC’s custom interface called Sense. The phone allows users to customize the device through changeable covers and pick from a choice of designs to ink the back of the phone. The Tattoo also has a HTC-designed interface that users can personalize to bring Facebook, twitter feeds and Flickr apps to the home screen.”
Google is not interested in competing against Apple

“As long as Apple products continue to support Google as the default search engine (or search engine of choice), I don’t really see anything in the immediate future that is going to pit Apple vs Google in any serious way.”
Dell shoots low for SMBs

“Today, Dell is rolling out a bunch of new servers and storage aimed at those SMB shops it wants to pursue with more of a vengeance, particularly since SMBs are still, of necessity, spending money to upgrade servers and storage. Three of the four new servers are based on Intel’s Lynnfield Xeon 3400 series of processors, which came out Tuesday. The other one is a new 2U rack box based on the Xeon 5500s.”
