Is Apple really targeting enterprise mobility?

John Cox writes that according to one analyst, Apple may be paying more attention to the enterprise market next year.
“Gartner mobile analyst Nick Jones says Apple plans to give new attention to the enterprise market in 2011. The analyst group, and enterprise users have complained for years that Apple hasn’t been “enterprise friendly. ‘[M]aybe they’ve been listening because I think in the last year there’s been a definite shift,’ Jones writes in his blog. He predicts a more aggressive enterprise campaign in 2011.”

“Dell has unveiled the Vostro V130, a super slim and light business laptop with Intel Core i3 and i5 processor options for users working on-the-go. At 0.65 inches-thin and weighing 3.5 pounds, the Vostro V130 is truly built for travel. The exterior sports zinc hinges around the anodized-aluminum casing. (But don’t go thinking this is a Toughbook ready for serious drops. The V130 is only ready for everyday bumps.) Dell asserts that this is also the “first ultra-thin laptop” to offer Intel’s Hyperbaric Cooling to keep things quiet and cool.”
Seagate: We’re not going private

Larry Dignan sets the record straight about Seagate’s company plans.
“Seagate said Monday that it has scrapped talks with private equity firms to go private because it couldn’t get the price it wanted. In a statement, Seagate said talks to go private are off ‘principally because it determined that the indications of the valuation range were not in the best interest of the company and its shareholders.’”
