TORONTO – CDN is proud to honour for 2016 Norma Tidd.
At the CDN 2016 Women of the IT Channel luncheon at the historic Weston Golf & Country Club Norma Tidd’s contribution to the IT channel in Canada was recognized.
Tidd began her career in the IT sector in 1982 and got a firsthand view of the birth of an industry.
This honour was long overdue and in this video interview, she talks about the fun she had in the business along with how important it was for her to give back.
Tidd, who is also the mother of two successful IT executives Nick and Stuart, made her mark with ASAP Computers Canada. But in 1989, she refocused to become the Sales Manager for Zenith Canada. In the twilight of her career, Tidd joined her son, Stuart, who founded PC Parts, a firm specializing in printer toner, parts and services.
Tidd officially retired from the industry in 2014, but still is a longstanding member of the Canadian Computer Charity Golf Classic Organizing Committee. To date, this yearly event has raised more than $5.8 million.
